Republicans announce a Teacher Pay Raise

ADE Releases a Teacher Retention Dashboard

Arizona Charters Underperform Against Arizona Districts

All the Details

You won't need to copy and paste this year.  We've added the Indirect Cost Tool to the online program now.  I'm doing some final testing but we can probably release it as soon as Friday.  You won't even need to upload your General Ledger because it will use the last one you had on file when you generated the AFR.  If you made changes to your General Ledger then please upload a new one so your Indirect Costs are calculated correctly and so we know we have a current copy on file.  After we have a few years of data we are going to start doing longitudinal reports so you can see how your General Ledger has changed over time and how that compares to your peers.  If you want to be able to see if your response to the SBITA coding changes is in line with your peers then we want a dashboard where you can quickly look at it.  So it's important that we always have your current GL on file.

The Republicans announced their Teacher Pay Raise idea which is essentially to continue the extra 2.5% draw down on the State Land Trust that began with Prop 123 but is set to expire.  This would create $300 million that would be placed into a teacher fund.  You can find the press release and media reaction at the links below.

ADE has put out a teacher retention dashboard.  I think it still needs some work, and I'm not sure how accurate the data is even if they are pulling it from certification...but it's not a bad start and it's interesting data.  Here's the link.

A new report came out showing that Charters are underperforming when compared to Districts especially with minority students.  Check it out for yourself at this link:
